The red-haired man you might have seen in various trailers is Ardyn Izuna, the Emperor's right-hand man. We don't learn much about the individual bad guys from Niflheim except they are pretty darn evil. The dreams he has in his coma are playable in the Final Fantasy XV: Platinum Demo. If you've seen Brotherhood you'll know Noctis and his mother were attacked by a monster that killed his mother and left Noctis in a coma. In the opening flashbacks we see young Noctis in a wheelchair. Obviously she's not dead but she's on her own and has a long way to go to meet up with Noctis. The end of Episode Duscae showed images of a bruised and battered Lunafreya walking through a burning city while the radio announces both her and Noctis are dead, that's pretty much the end of the film. She remembers her and Noctis learning of their destiny as children, and she intends to see it through with him. King Regis entrusts Luna with the Ring of the Lucii and tells the remaining loyal Kingsglaive to get her out of Insomnia so she can reunite with Noctis. It isn't a stretch to think the Lucii will have a MAJOR role in Final Fantasy XV- seeing as they're on the box art.įirst of all, she's the (former) Princess of Tenebrae. The Empire want Noctis and Lunafreya to marry as part of a peace treaty that obviously doesn't work out well in Lucis' favour.ĭespite Tenebrae being in alliance with the Empire, Lunafreya is devoted to King Regis and Noctis. Regis has aged well beyond his years and often when character use the 'gift' of magic, their veins glow an eerie orange. These Gods are pretty manipulative, offering their power to humans at a cost. We see a scene in the film where a character puts on the ring and communicates with the Lucii. The Kingsglaive 'lend' the power of magic and that fancy teleportation from the King. The crystal is a source of the city's power and the giant barrier surrounding it from outside attack, but King Regis' own magic comes from the Ring. The power is passed down the royal line through a ring known as the Ring of the Lucii. We also learn more about the magic of Lucis.

These 'demons' are huge and destructive, and more than slightly familiar to long-time series fans, but we'll get to that later… It doesn't seem like Noctis will have many allies in Final Fantasy XV.Īs we've seen already, Niflheim is very technologically advanced, but we see here that they have creatures referred to as 'demons' under their control. There is a lot of hatred for the King among the refugees, within the capital and even the Kingsglaive itself. The capital has taken in many refugees, a lot of them making it into the Kingsglaive. There are lots of abandoned towns in the wastelands outside Insomnia that have been destroyed by war.
